What does a watcher mean now on Deviantart? Lately, its been harder to find more dedicated and supportive watchers on deviantart, in contrast to a single year ago. Yes, my popularity has increased and I have received more watchers, however, a slim percentage of those actually end up as a loyal and caring follower. Now, there is a new genre of a "watcher," which would be a person that watches you for the sake of attention, or something in return.

How many times have you gotten that annoying plea for a watch back? A watch is much more than that. It is supporting someones artwork and creativity, offering feedback and support.

Every single person I watch, I make sure to comment on all their deviations and be involved in their creative process. I'm not saying, that watchers should comment on EVERY single deviation, but instead of faving, a simple click that takes hardly any effort, as the only support you receive, it would be nice to comment every couple deviations, even every 10.

Don't get me wrong, I vastly appreciate favorites as well, but isn't the whole point of dA to grow as an artist and gain experience from the wisdom and feedback of our fellow deviants?

So I challenge you, (my other 80 watchers that I have not heard from for a extended period of time), your fellow deviants, and the whole dA community to step up and live true to deviantART's name; to support, appreciate, and offer feedback to our fellow deviants!

I am not trying to guilt you into commenting on my photos, I definitely understand many of you are busy, I am mostly addressing the people that watch and never look back.
